So, you're probably wondering how we got here...

Brook and Shawn knew each other growing up in the same school districts, attending Covington middle & Bowie high school. They knew the same people and passed each other in the hall daily. But back then (believe or not) Shawn was shy and wouldn't say too much in passing outside of hello in some form or fashion. What most do not know is that Shawn had eyes for Brook but was too intimidated to talk to her. He even told a friend when they had been returning to school after sneaking off campus for lunch, that he was going to marry that girl one day, as he pointed to Brook and her boyfriend walking 40 yards ahead. Shawn had always wondered how Brook was doing over the years that passed, and little did they know that life would bring them back together 20 years later.

Brook posted a funny meme that Shawn made a comment on, unknowing that it would lead to a dream come true for Shawn. After a couple weeks of flirting over the phone, Shawn had the nerve and courage to ask Brook out on their very first date. The very next day Shawn was remorseful about his bold move the night before and tried all day to think of an excuse to get out of the date without hurting Brook's feelings, for his own fear of possible rejection 20 years later. Now, Shawn is bright, but for some reason all of his genius ideas escaped him throughout the day. So, Shawn had to face the music he had wrote the night before, and mustard all of his courage to go out that night with the girl of his dreams!

Shawn pulled up to Brook's place that night, and despite Shawn having all his courage pulled together for this night, the right words to form sentences escaped his mind the whole 1.5 hour ride to San Antonio to see a country dance competition that his friend was participating in. Luckily for Shawn, Brook felt sorry and could tell he was very nervous, so she kept the conversation alive the 5 hour ride from Austin to San Antonio (I know it's only 1.5 hours, but it felt like 5). And after a great night on their first date during that ride home, Shawn thought to himself (again); I'm going to marry this girl!
